Staying focused on the goal

Sometimes I have to remind myself to keep focused on my goal. It’s not so much that I fear losing focus of my goal, it’s more a case of everything getting in the way.

Here’s the story. I work full time, commute two to three hours each weekday (depending on traffic), buy groceries, cook for the family, manage the household finances, and run a business. My days are pretty full.

The thing is, I can’t really skip out on anything right now. If I let my wife do the shopping and cooking, everyone will have little fudge snacks and soda every day for most meals. Not exactly healthy. So here I am juggling everything, and it’s easy to slack off for a day.

I could tell myself that there’s plenty of time, and I can get the work done tomorrow. Well, I don’t tell myself that because there simply isn’t enough time. I feel like I’m cutting corners already. There’s so much work to be done building this business, so I can’t slack off there. I can’t slack off in my family life either, because family is number one.

Sometimes it’s hard, but the goal must always remain in focus. Focus helps us humans acheive great things. And great things I shall accomplish.
