Getting Behind on the Paperwork

I’ve been behind on my paperwork, and I got a little notice from the state Department of Finance Administration. I’m not in any trouble–they were just telling me that I needed to file my paperwork, or I would have to pay extra taxes. A late fee, actually. I guess that would be the paperwork laziness tax.

Well, I got it all done this evening, but the situation did bring an issue to light: Paperwork needs to be done regularly. I have read that many new businesses are horrible about their paperwork. I suppose that is because they are new to it and don’t yet have a system in place. I encourage you to get a system into place if you don’t already have one.

Thankfully, I didn’t have very much paperwork. If I did have a lot of paperwork, however, it would have taken up quite a bit of my time. I don’t like things taking up my time. In addition to that, more paperwork means more of a chance for mistakes. From now on, I’m going to keep on top of my paperwork. I just have to devise a system.
