I’m having to be quite creative with my marketing efforts. I have a very, very small advertising budget, amounting to an average of $10 a month. Now, I do realize that if I put more money into my marketing efforts, I’ll be able to do more and thus reach more people and convert those people into customers. But, my budget is so tight right now, that I really can’t afford to do more. When I start making more money, the marketing budget will be the first to grow.
For now, I’m networking and blogging to get exposure. I also use business cards creatively–they are basically discount coupons for my website. I’ve also begun to dabble in online classified advertising, but so far haven’t had much of response. Though, it’s still too early to tell if it’s effective or not. I’m going to put some ads in the back of topically-related magazines, and set up a budget to use Google Adwords. There are some other content-relevant text ad systems that I can look into as well.
Basically, I’ve got to be really careful with my marketing, becuase I don’t have much money to spend on it. However, this doesn’t worry me because I’ll learn a lot about marketing and writing effective copy.
